ALEX GIBSON
Alex Gibson is a Malmö based singer-songwriter with a soul and pop influence, his music has taken him all over the world.
Originally from Australia, with a Swedish mother… he honed his skills busking on the streets of Sydney, which led to tours around Australia, TV & radio appearances, the recording of his debut album.. and then a one ticket to London where he starting all over again, working on
his sound and exploring life in a new city.
From busking on Portobello Road, to awing performances for ‘Sofar Sounds’ – Alex’s style is adaptable, fierce, soothing and raw, with appeal across various generations and stages. With a cumulation of both classic and modern influences, Alex has mastered his own timeless sound with immense passion, skill and determination.
In 2021 Alex released his sophomore Album ‘Thirty’ with critical acclaim, with many songs being premiered on ‘Triple J Roots N All’ and ‘Amazing Radio’ UK and US. This Album takes the listener on a journey of raw emotion with a beautiful and varied delivery. Parts of the album were recorded at the famed ‘Gula Studion’ in Malmö.
2023/24 has been the most exciting period of his life so far, with his new track ‘Hurricane’ just being released, and the relocation of his whole family to Malmö; in search of opportunities and a better life.
New music is on the horizon, and his full immersion into the Swedish music world is in flight.

IS THIS A CONCERT OR DINNER MUSIC?
Quite clearly: concert! With the concerts we want to promote newcomer musicians with their own music, bring new music to the people, eat something good and have a great time with other people. For this to work, you should also listen to the bands at the concert and get involved with the music. This way, the artists are not disturbed in their performance and the other guests are not disturbed while listening – and nothing stands in the way of a unique concert evening for everyone!
EATING & DRINKING?
The Ruby Zoe offers a bar with a large selection of drinks at moderate prices. For the small appetite there is a selection of snacks. However, cash payment is not possible.
Why ADMISSION FREE?
We want every person to have access to great live music events. Above all, this should not fail because of money. And that’s why we don’t charge admission to any of our concerts. Of course, we also have to cover our costs and pay fair fees to the musicians for their performances. That’s why we pass around our KÜNSTLERHUT at all our concerts. You are welcome to donate money to the artist in this hat. Of course only if you like it and your situation allows it! This way you can do something good for the artist and for other concert-goers who otherwise would not have enough money to attend concerts. The content of the hat goes 100% to the artists.
